Worksheets that never matched certificates
Data captured during execution was re-entered, or manually transcribed, to produce a certificate. Every transfer introduced drift, delay, and a potential audit failure. It was the norm, not the exception.
About CalBrix
CalBrix did not come from a product roadmap or a venture brief. It came from years inside accredited calibration operations, offshore, onshore, in gas plants and drillships, watching the same avoidable failures happen week after week and finding that the tools available were either too fragmented, too narrow, or not designed around the full calibration workflow from intake to audit evidence.

The founder
Founder & Lead Engineer, CalBrix
Mr. Montford is a calibration technician turned systems engineer, with years of hands-on experience across some of the most demanding environments in the industry: onshore industrial facilities, FPSOs, drillships, and high-pressure gas plants, inside accredited calibration operations in the Gulf region, serving oil & gas, offshore, and industrial clients.
That experience gave him an unusually precise view of what calibration operations actually look like at the execution level: the workflows under pressure, the compliance exposure, the audit risk, and the tooling gaps that no vendor on the market was addressing.
In 2024, he used LinkedIn as his primary search channel, working through every calibration management software company listed there, 45 in total. He evaluated each one against the real requirements of a working calibration lab. The conclusion was unambiguous: the operating layer calibration labs needed did not exist. So he built it.
CalBrix is the direct result of that work, a platform designed from the ground up by someone who has run calibrations, stood in front of auditors, and knows exactly what happens when the tools do not hold together.
Why CalBrix had to be built
These were not edge cases. They were the daily reality inside calibration labs and the root cause of most compliance failures, audit findings, and reputational damage that labs face.
Data captured during execution was re-entered, or manually transcribed, to produce a certificate. Every transfer introduced drift, delay, and a potential audit failure. It was the norm, not the exception.
On-site. Minutes before the job. In front of a client. Risk assessments were treated as a formality bolted onto the process, not an integral step embedded in the execution record.
After reviewing 45 calibration and quality platforms, the gap was clear: most tools solved parts of the workflow, but few connected execution, review, certificate release, traceability, and audit evidence in one governed operating layer. Scheduling here, certificates there, report generation somewhere else — but nothing that closed the loop end to end.
When regulators arrived, labs spent days pulling evidence out of disconnected systems. It was preventable every time. And every time, it cost labs their credibility, their time, and sometimes their accreditation.
The turning point
Mr. Montford used LinkedIn as his search tool, working through every calibration management software company listed there: 45 companies total. He evaluated the big names, the regional players, the accreditation-branded tools. One by one. After reviewing each one against the real requirements of a working calibration lab, the gap was clear: most solved parts of the problem, but none connected execution, review, certificate release, traceability, and audit evidence in one governed operating layer. So he built it.
The platform
Not a scheduling tool. Not a certificate generator. Not a compliance checklist. CalBrix is the complete operating layer for calibration labs and metrology-intensive enterprises. From intake to audit evidence, linked by design.
From instrument intake and scheduling, through worksheet-based calibration execution, to review workflows, certificates, and audit evidence, all linked by design in one record.
ISO 17025, ISO 9001, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, IATF 16949, and AS9100 baked into the workflow. E-signatures, uncertainty budgets, GUM-aligned drift analysis, and an immutable SHA-256 audit trail.
Gage R&R (AIAG MSA 4th Ed), SPC charts with Cp/Cpk, guard banding (Z540.3), and full measurement traceability chains from NMI to unit under test.
All intelligence runs on CalBrix infrastructure: predictive calibration intervals, drift modeling, anomaly detection, OCR, and semantic search. Your data never leaves your environment.
CalBrix runs on cloud infrastructure or self-hosted servers with the same API, the same data model, and the same full feature set. No stripped-down on-premise edition.
Multi-tenant architecture with MFA, OIDC SSO, white-labeling, API keys, webhooks, and tier-based resource limits, built for single labs and large enterprise operations alike.

Assets, calibrations, worksheets, certificates, risk assessments, scheduling, standards traceability, MSA, SPC, environmental monitoring, document control, training, API integration, and AI intelligence; all under one roof, one audit trail, one subscription.
How we build
These are not values statements on a wall. They are the engineering and operational commitments that determine what gets built, how it works, and how it is supported.
Every workflow was pressure-tested against real calibration work: offshore, onshore, in accredited labs, and under audit. No feature exists that a technician or auditor did not need.
Worksheets, risk assessments, certificates, approvals, and audit evidence all share a single record. Nothing is re-typed. Nothing drifts. Everything traces.
Built for teams that need data residency control, on-premise AI, and a platform that runs identically in cloud and air-gapped environments.
When you partner with CalBrix, you reach the people who built and run the platform. Not a support tier. Not a ticket queue.
The company
Registered Limited Liability Company
CalBrix is developed and operated under Montford Orbis Ltd, a registered limited liability company founded by Mr. Montford. Montford Orbis exists to build, maintain, and advance the CalBrix platform, and to ensure that calibration labs, metrology operations, and asset-intensive enterprises have access to an operating system that matches the rigour of the work they do.
The organisation is structured to deliver at depth. Engineering, compliance, operations, and customer success are all covered internally, not outsourced. Every person involved with the platform understands calibration, because that is the prerequisite for building software that actually works inside it.
As CalBrix grows, Montford Orbis is actively building relationships with accredited laboratories, equipment manufacturers, calibration service providers, and industry bodies — creating an ecosystem that strengthens both the platform and the broader calibration and metrology community it serves.
This is not a side project. It is a properly constituted company, with the legal structure, the operational rigour, and the long-term commitment that enterprise-grade software demands.
Partnerships
If you run an accredited laboratory, represent a calibration service provider, work with an equipment manufacturer, or are affiliated with a standards body or accreditation authority: we want to talk.
CalBrix was built to serve this industry at the highest level. That mission scales with the right partnerships behind it, and we are deliberate about the partners we build with.
Registration
A registered limited liability company. CalBrix is the platform. Montford Orbis Ltd is the legal and operational entity behind it.
How CalBrix is run
These are the functional areas CalBrix is built across. Every decision in each area is made with direct knowledge of what calibration work actually demands, not delegated to people who have never done the work.
Platform engineering
Core architecture, certificate engine, AI/ML pipeline, API integration layer, and the full developer platform.
Compliance & metrology
ISO 17025, GUM uncertainty quantification, guard banding, MSA, SPC, and regulated-industry fit across multiple standards.
Operations & deployment
Partner onboarding, data migration, self-hosted deployments, and ongoing production support.
Product & workflow design
Every interface is designed around how calibration work actually happens, not how software vendors imagine it does.
Customer success
Direct line to the people who built and run the platform, because the people who understand the product best should be answering the questions.
Partnerships & growth
Enterprise onboarding, laboratory partnerships, and integrations with equipment manufacturers, accreditation bodies, and industry suppliers.
